How the New CLS Looks

Source From: Star Motoring

Mercedes-Benz has put to rest speculations about how the second-generation CLS-Class would look like.

It has just posted up photos of the new CLS ahead of its world  premiere at the Paris motor show (Oct 2 – 17).

The proportions remain as usual:  long hood, tightly-styled frame-less side windows and a roofline sweeping back at an angle towards the rear.

Muscular ripples in the CLS sheetmetal.

The four-door coupĂ©  carved out  a new category when it was introduced in 2003. Though the proportions are the same, the second generation of this design trendsetter has a completely new look.

What immediately strikes the eye is the innovative front design, which looks like the SLS AMG. Visually, the radiator grille is not integrated into the hood but formed separately. This further highlights the long, sporty hood.

The car will also have full LED headlamps, which are the world's first to offer all of the dynamic light functions using LED technology.

Mercedes-Benz's press statement left out the numbers but speculations in the motoring frat are that an all-new direct-injected 3.5-litre V6 will be the entry level in the CLS350.

The CLS550 models is expected to feature a twin-turbo 4.6-litre V8 that will produce 430hp and 700Nm of torque. You can bet your last dollar a tricked-out AMG version will not be far behind.
